5th November 2009                                                                 Newsletter No: 08

Dear Parents,

We were all very sorry to hear the sad news about Mrs Parker. Out thoughts are with all of the Parker family. Lily’s grandma supported all school events and always had kind words to say. We will miss her.

We welcome Holly King into year 1 and hope she will be happy at Iron Acton school.

I appreciate that mornings are busy but a significant number of pupils are regularly coming into school well after 8.55 a.m. Staff run many activities between 8.55 and 9.20 and pupils are often turning up half way through. Local authority requires that all registers be competed by 9.10 a.m and  all pupils arriving after this time will receive a late mark in the register.

Club update

  • Growing club and drama continuing.
  • Netball has finished now until the Spring.
  • Football club is also cancelled until the Spring as no adults came forward to supervise it.
  • ICT club will be running on Wednesday’s – a new club form should coming out this week.
  • Unfortunately due to technical problems with the ICT equipment we can no longer run Robotics club and we will not be entering the competition this year - I apologise to the club members who have worked so hard on this project.
  • A register is called at the start of each club session. Often there are one or two pupils missing as they have some other priority or have decided not to come this week. However, we are responsible for these pupils if they are on the list. Please could you just let the member of staff or the class teacher know to save us searching for pupils or phoning home.
  • Friends reminder wellie walk on Friday and all Christmas card designs must be returned to the office by Wednesday 11th November.

Poppies are on sale this week and next.
