8th October 2009                                                                     Newsletter No: 05

Dear Parents,

The newsletter is also available on the web site if your child is ill, looses it or forgets it.

Last year we asked parents if they were interested in having their newsletters electronically but did not get sufficient response to make it worthwhile. We will ask again this year and hopefully get a bigger take up.

A huge “thank you” to everyone for the wonderful harvest gifts. I think this was one of the best selection ever. Thank you to Mrs Chapman and Mrs Thomas for being such great auctioneers. The auction and sale raised £140. School council will meet today to discuss which charities to support.

We welcome Miss Weeks into class 2 on Wednesdays and Thursdays. She is a PGCE student from Bath Spa University.

Due to parents evening there will be no netball or drama next week – other clubs will run as usual.

Year 6 is off to the life skills centre this afternoon - we hope they enjoy it.

Well done Emma and Andrea for their help this week- I wish we could keep you longer!

I hope you were all pleased with your photographs. I have heard a variety of feedback from people - there will be a questionnaire available on parents evening.

I have been informed by the local authority that they are not running the Yellow pages competition this year. All householders should put their yellow pages in their green recycling box.

Olivia and her dad have created a web site for girls aged 9-13. They have worked very hard on it and it is full of interesting information such as fashion tips, charities and book reviews. It also has a chat section - www.butter-fly.co.uk.

Mr Cowell will be monitoring the site carefully, but please remind your child of the e-safety rules to be used when accessing a public web site and a chat room.

Bonfire Night. Saturday 7th November at the Parish Meadows from 5.30pm.

Tickets are available from Mrs Haselhan or the school office. The school receives 20% commission on our sales so please buy from us! Thank you.
