15th October 2009                                                                      Newsletter No: 06

Dear Parents,

Thank you for all of the Morrison’s vouchers. We have already collected enough for 1 hoe, 1 rake and 3 hand forks. Now all we need is 710 for a cold frame!

PALs are having their first meeting in the Lamb on Tuesday. Why not drop your child off and go over for a cup of coffee. Mrs Aries and Mrs Kay are the new PALs organisers and I know they would appreciate your support. Bring ideas for what you would like to be discussed this year.

After half term the children will be coming straight into their classroom rather than waiting on the playground. School starts at 8.55 a.m but they are welcome to come anytime after 8.40 a.m.

Richard Wiggins and Billy East are very keen to continue football club over the winter. However :

  • It will only be open for years 3-6 as it is too cold/dark/wet for the year 2s.
  • I need an adult with a CRB check to oversee it.
  • Please let me know if you are interested in helping with the club.
  • Last week Class 3 enjoyed a very exciting African drumming workshop. This was run by Andy Warne and paid for by South Gloucestershire’s music service.
  • Design your own Christmas cards and help raise money for school funds! This was very successful last year and the children created some wonderful cards for their family and friends. A letter giving full details is with the newsletter if you would like to have a go.

Bonfire Night. Saturday 7th November at the Parish Meadows from 5.30pm.

Tickets are available from Mrs Haselhan or the school office. The school receives 20% commission on our sales so please buy from us! Thank you.
