December 17th 2009                                                        Newsletter No: 14

Dear Parents,

The children and staff have just enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch our thanks to Julie and Claire in the kitchen for their hard work in preparing this.

Swimming starts on Monday 4th January for years 3,4 and 5 - please make sure you have your swimming costume and towel in a named bag. Girls - hair tied back and no jewellery please.

An enormous “Thank you“ to everyone who organised and/or supported the Christmas Fair. There was a wonderful atmosphere and we raised £350.

Thank you to all of the children who came to the Christingle service at the church on Sunday. They sang very well and were superb ambassadors for the school.

Well done to everyone for a magnificent Nativity play, it is amazing to see such confidence amongst such young children. I hope you all enjoyed watching it.

Well done to class 2 on their poetry reading and singing. Finally to class 3, for providing the backing carols.

Thank you to each and every one of you for your help and support over this busy Christmas period: organising costumes, transporting children to and fro, making mince pies, providing tombola prizes ... the list goes on and on. I am very aware that in a small school we do ask a lot but it is much appreciated by staff and pupils.

On Wednesday the children all enjoyed a Hindu day with Krishna. Each class listened to stories, dressed up, had face painting and learnt about the main Hindu traditions.

Wishing you all a happy Christmas and a peaceful new year.

Clubs will start back 11th January.
