21st January 2010                                                                            Newsletter No: 18

Dear parents/ carers, I hope you are all coming to support Freya and Elena’s tea parties to raise funds for Haiti .This was completely their own idea. Come to the hall on Thursday 21st and Thursday 28th 2.45p.m onwards. They need donations of cakes, surplus Christmas gifts and raffle prizes. If any adult could help the girls by making and serve the hot drinks it would be much appreciated.

We are all looking forward to the Languages day next week. As an added bonus, we have just heard that three language specialists from Brimsham Green School will be joining us for the afternoon.

It should be a very colourful day as people dress up…., the costumes can be as simple or as elaborate as you like.

To celebrate our languages theme there will be Chocolate Milk: 10p and Croissants: 15p available at morning break time (instead of fruit or toast). At lunchtime the menu will be chicken chasseur, French fries and garlic bread (vegetarian option available) followed by French fruit tart and vanilla custard at the usual price of £1.60.

Thank you to everyone who has returned the security questionnaire. Please return any more forms by 1st February.

South Gloucestershire has sent out questionnaires to each child and their parent/ carer in years 2 and 6. It will give the local authority an overall picture of how well the ‘Every child Matters ‘agenda (safety, health, excellent education, economic awareness and positive contribution to the community) is being delivered. The pupils will be doing them this week. There is a copy of the questionnaires in the office if you would like to see any of them.

PALS meeting on Friday 22nd January 9.00 a.m. at The Lamb Inn (opposite School). Topics are snow procedures and school trips. If you are unable to make it but may have any ideas/comments please see Sally Aries or Lyn Kay.
