24th June 2010                                                                         Newsletter No: 36

Dear Parents/Carers,

Well done and thank you, to the pupils who entered the Boccia /T ball festival at Yate Outdoor sports centre on Saturday and to Miss Brooks for organising this.

Class 2 performed very well at the Small school dance festival at Tortworth School. Their Maypole dance was faultless. The brass band has made amazing progress with their fanfare. Well done everyone. Thank you to all the adults who came to watch and help. A special thank you to Mr Perks for bringing the refreshments.

Earlier in the year, Class 2 worked on a clay tile entitled ”All creatures great and small”. Mr Crumpton has kindly grouted and framed the tiles into a very professional looking piece of art work. It is hanging next to the hall door - have a look when you next pass.

Next Wednesday the photographer is coming in to take Class photographs, a year 6 photograph and a whole school photograph.

The pupils really enjoyed meeting Christian Malcolm on Monday. A group of year 5 pupils have prepared a display of his life and running achievements if you wish to know more. They all completed their sporting challenges. A huge thank you to everyone who has already sent in money.

The Field project meeting went well. Mr Sandie will be organising the construction of the mounds for us and the working party will be creating a spiral “reflective/sensory“ garden. Please see Dr Hatcher (James and Jenny’s mum) if you would like any information.

With this news letter you should also be getting a colouring competition entry for the Church fete. You can either take it straight to the fete on 3rd July or hand it in to Mrs Aries.
