The Iron Robots team from Iron Acton school finished a very creditable 9th from 40 primary schools in the South West heat of the First Lego League. The team scored 50, 55 and a fantastic 95 over the three rounds on the robot match. Missing out on 8th place, and a place in the quarter finals by a solitary point. An outstanding performance for a team entering its first competition.

All the members of the team, the coach and the school would like to thank their sponsors CompuPacific, concinnitas and Linux IT who made this event possible for the children.

Firstly the team gave a presentation on the impact of climate on Iron Acton: Then their robot competed very effectively improving in all three rounds.

Well done to the entire team who contributed to an outstanding performance and were a joy to coach.

The coach aka mr docktor professor Tofts and sometimes Mrs Tofts (thanks to anonymous team members)

Next year hopefully we’ll make the play-offs!
